The old city of
byblos is today a fisherman port still using traditional ways of
fishing. To the south of the port a stretch of sandy beach perfect
for swimming in summertime, to the north a pebble beach. Overlooking
the port an impressive archeological site with kanaanite-
Phoenician- Greek-roman ruines, as well as a church St John Marc
built by the crusades 900 years ago. For many tourists, Byblos is
their favorite place in Lebanon where they like to extend their stay
for a few days to savour the charm of this old city.
Byblos offers many touristic
services, two hotels, Byblos
sur Mer and Ahiram. A dozen of restaurants serving a variety
of food ( fresh sea food- sandwiches- Lebanese mezzé-
continental food- fresh juices
etc) |
